We create new things. It’s what we do best — and we’re addicted to the challenge of making something out of nothing.
A few weeks ago we had a hack week in San Francisco. Kyle had an idea that got our gears turning, and we went for it. After some late nights, passionate “discussions,” and more than a few beers, we shared our side project with a group of friends and, more recently, the Betaworks Openbeta list. Encouraged by the fantastic response, we decided to polish and share our app.
Today, we’re proud to release Everlapse.
Everlapse is a fast and fun way to share life, frame by frame. It’s about encouraging visual communication, bridging the space between photos and video, solo work and collaboration. With Everlapse, you can create and contribute to clips which are made up of photos and displayed slideshow style.
You can make clips with your own photos, or you can invite others to add their photos.
We’ve been having lots of fun with it and have found that most of our creations fall into one of three categories:
Flip books - Stop-motion and time-lapse clips. We added a really cool tracing feature that makes it easy to line up the camera with the latest photo in the clip.
Photo albums - Clips of photos at a concert or fun night out with friends.
Current status games - Collaborative clips that capture what your friends are doing, eating, wearing, or experiencing.
We’re eager to hear what you think about Everlapse and we can’t wait to see what you create. Reach out to us on Twitter at @everlapse and share your thoughts.
